The
vision for TSN Ministries began
in 1997 when founders Jerry and Tamara
Carroll embarked on a mission’s
trip to the Caribbean island of St.
Vincent. While teaching young
girls, Tamara met many poverty stricken
natives, including a six month pregnant
woman with 4 year old twin daughters.
While the children were loving and eager
for education and opportunity, the impoverished
families lacked resources to meet the
basic needs of food, clothing, shelter,
and medical care.
Upon returning to the United States
the Carroll’s devoted their time
and energy to finding ways to help the
children of St. Vincent, including international
adoption. However due to geographic
and financial constraints, long term
help to St. Vincent was difficult at
best. Filled with the desire to
help children who were in desperate
need, Jerry and Tamara realized they
didn’t have to look to the Caribbean
to find abused, neglected, and abandoned
children. Instead they began
to focus on children located in their
home town within Prince George’s
County, Maryland. |
