The Sparrows'
Nest Ministries, Inc. was established
as a safe haven for children in crisis.
It is an outreach and prevention ministry
with a mission to provide shelter
and counseling to low-income children,
who are at-risk of out of home placement
due to abandonment, neglect and abuse.
Although it began with a simple desire
to help children, TSN Ministries is
now an established non-profit organization
active in the community with a full
time Executive Director, Assistant
Director, volunteer staff, Board of
Directors, and countless families
whose lives have been changed for
the better!

1,884 people
in the Washington metropolitan area,
New Orleans, LA, North Carolina, India,
Canada, and Nigeria were assisted. Over
70 victims of Hurricane Katrina
were provided assistance. 1,001
homeless men and women have been provided
meals, toiletries, and clothing. 848
families were helped through the Community
Care program with food, school supplies,
summer school tuition, clothing and
household items. Specifically, 24
children (newborn to adolescents)
have received personal housing and care.
In addition to
the children and families we have
been humbled to serve, TSN Ministries
can now boast of securing a confident
accounting firm (Balsamo, Stuart,
Lutters and Ruth), and completed
a virtual DVD of the Olde Towne Community
with the professional services of
2 Visualize in Richmond, VA.
They also completed a marketing analysis
(Cadence Marketing) of their target
area and were awarded a block grant
from the Prince George’s County’s
Department of Housing and Community
Development division., Their first
child they cared for is now a web
developer in Baltimore!
TSN Ministries
is presently operating a mentor program
out of a resource center in Dodge
Park (Landover, MD), offered to them
through the benevolence of a local
apartment complex. In addition, they
held their first two Board and Staff
retreats in Virginia Beach, VA (Founders’
Inn) in 2006 and 2007 and hosted
the Building Blocks for Success Conference
in Bowie, MD (Comfort Inn and Conference
Center) in 2008.
Just think
of what we've been able to accomplish…and
what we can do in the future with
your partnership!
